The starting point
Renovation is a high-value, slow-decision purchase. A homeowner planning a kitchen or a bathroom searches for weeks, compares a handful of companies on Google Maps, and calls two or three. A contractor that is not in that handful never hears about the project.
This Toronto company did good work and had almost no presence in those searches. Its Google Business Profile was rarely shown, so the profile views and actions that lead to site visits were close to flat.
What we changed
The campaign ran on our Google Business Profile optimization and management service, following the same sequence we use for every home renovation contractor: research first, then the website, then the profile, then the trust signals around it. The aim was to appear for the searches that carry real projects, such as “home renovation toronto” and “kitchen renovation toronto”, rather than for volume alone.
What happened
In the first year, profile views rose 356.5% to 4,684 and search appearances rose 1,005.9%. The profile now ranks for “home renovation toronto” and “kitchen renovation toronto”, and both terms appear on the client's own performance screen.
Visibility turned into action. Between March and July 2026 the profile recorded 526 customer actions, up 168.4% on the same months a year earlier. The curve is a steady climb rather than a spike, which is what a renovation pipeline needs.
Why it matters for a contractor like you
A single renovation call can be a five-figure project. The figures here are not estimates from a tracking tool. Google counts them inside the client's own account, so the owner can check every one of them.
How the campaign ran
Renovation keyword research and competitor analysis
Every search a homeowner makes when planning a renovation was mapped and sized, and the winnable terms were attacked first.
Website optimization and planning
Pages structured around how homeowners choose: by room and by project type, with galleries that sell the finished result.
Google Business Profile optimization and management
Categories, services, project photos and review replies kept current every week.
Listings, citations and white-hat links
Consistent business details across the directories homeowners and Google both check, then authority earned through links Google allows.
